TAP the power

I recently heard a story about Oral Roberts.  GOD had revealed to Billye Brim (http://www.billyebrim.org/) that Oral Roberts had an uncanny ability to "tap" the anointing power of GOD, where so many of us simply "lap" (run around) the same power like a burning bush. I certainly have done that myself; talking about GOD's healing power and not TAPPING that power.

The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48) made an effort to TAP the power of GOD. She did not quit making her way through the crowd until she TOUCHED the ANOINTING POWER (acnonym mine) of Jesus.

How do we T.A.P.? We:
1) make a decision that GOD's Word is truth (John 17:17)
2) continue to build our faith by hearing and hearing the Word of GOD (Romans 10:17)
3) apply Mark 11:23-25
4) "call those things that be not as though they were" (Romans 4:17)
5) continue to "walk by faith and not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7)
6) learn how to pray according to the Word, not the world (James 4:2-3)
7) stand until our victory comes (Ephesians 6:13)
8) tell our testimony, giving glory to GOD!

The amplified account of the woman with the issue of blood says that "she kept saying". This implies that this was a process that she was consistent in applying and she was determined not to quit till she got her victory! "With faith and patience we inherit the promises of GOD" (Hebrews 6:12)

Why don't I get my Healing?

God's Word is clear on healing. There are many scriptures that tell us that God wants us healed and that Jesus provided that healing for us on the cross at Calvary. (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24, Psalm  107:20, Psalm 103:3, Matthew 4:23, etc., etc.)
So why is it that some don't receive healing when they truly want to be healed? One reason is because of the words they speak. Jesus told us we could have what we say (Mark 11:22-24). When we believe in our heart and speak out of our mouth, those words have power. Proverbs 18:21 and Matthew 12:37 tell us that "death and life are in the power of the tongue" and "by your words you are justified and by your words you are condemned" respectively.
Isaiah 58 tells of the house of Jacob complaining that they fast and sacrifice yet God was not paying attention to them. The prophet explains to them that it is because they are fasting with strife in their hearts, to exploit their laborers, and to "strike with the fists of wickedness". He goes on to tell them the fast God wants is to "loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free". He wants them to help those less fortunate. He then goes on to say that if they do what God leads them to do and "not speak and of your own (idle) words" then their healing will "spring forth speedily".
There are so many wonderful saints of God out there helping others tirelessly and sharing the gospel yet not receiving their own healing. Healing is a gift from God. It is there for the taking. Faith takes, faith SPEAKS. Having "faith in God" and the "God kind of faith" includes SPEAKING the way God speaks.
I encourage you to read the whole 58th chapter of Isaiah. It is another example of a blessed promise from God that we can walk in if we do it His way, not our way.

Some good prayers

Father, I know that You gave me the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16) and a spirit of strength and discipline (2 Tim. 1:7). Therefore, I boldly claim victory over overeating and eating the wrong foods for my body. I am more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37) over temptations to eat junk or to overeat. Your WORD says that You have given me a way out in tempting situations (1 Cor. 10:13). You satisfy my mouth (my necessity and desire at my personal age and situation) with good (Ps. 103:5) and I thank you for that good satisfaction NOW in JESUS' Name! AMEN

Father, Your WORD says that wisdom is the principal thing (Prov. 4:7), therefore I vow to get wisdom and understanding about things that pertain to my excellent health so that I can be strong, healthy, and energetic to fulfill Your plan for my life. I offer my body as a living sacrifice, which is my reasonable service (Romans 12:1). I desire to be willing and obedient to You, Father, (Isa 1:19) so that I know I will prosper in the plan You have for me. I submit myself to You and I resist the devil and he will flee from me (James 4:7). Thank You, and so it is for me in JESUS' Name!
